At the farm, we pride ourselves being accredited with Quality Milk Program, a federal criteria for dairy farmers in Canada. As well, Fox Hill Farm has twice been awarded the Florence Cox award from Farmers Dairy for having consistent quality milk. Environmentally, we continually try to improve our land, using only our own nutrients for the past four years. Our animals are housed in a natural ventilated loose housing barn during the colder months of the year while being pasture fed from spring to late fall. Our animals have a constant source of feed in front of them, including hay from our own fields. We work with a nutritionist to assure our animals have a well balanced diet. A small herd allows us to pay strict attention to the quality forage fed to our cows and to the production of clean, pure milk that is drug and hormone free. As dairy farmers, we have a solid appreciation of the land, not only for our present generation, but the necessity of using sustainable practices for future generations. It is only by preserving the land on which we grow our food that we can assure food for our children and grandchildren.

Fox Hill Cheese House is an on-farm federally licensed facility. We take great pride in our service to you, our consumer. It is our belief that it is important to create consistent, quality products, using as many local ingredients as possible, while educating our clients about the importance of dairy products. Recently, Fox Hill Cheese House, was honored to receive the 2009 Taste Nova Scotia Quality Driven Member award. At Fox Hill Cheese House, we value the relationships we have built over the past five years, many of which have grown to friendships.

2010 is proving to be an exciting year for Fox Hill Cheese House, with the expansion of a new processing room, additional cold room and storage space and the opening of an additional retail facility at the new Seaport Market in Halifax.
